Final Project Research.

Final Project Research.

This blog is a little bit sensitive just because it is about my first webpage ever that I feel satisfy about it, and the outcomes I got from it. It is really hard to do a webpage based on your imagination since you don’t have a content to work with, a vision, or someone’s requirements that you try to achieve. I made this final project as a restaurant’s webpage for many reasons that I will mention few of them:
Ø  A restaurant web site is full and rich of all different type of content from music, photos, font styles, and even a lot of animation.
Ø  The most important thing about a webpage is it must be attractive first, than reach of meaningful content to the customer, and with a restaurant’s web page I will be challenged to be more creative while delivering an important content for customers.
Ø  A restaurant’s webpage as any other commercial pages is trying to get people’s money, and in order to do that you have to have a web page that will make people’s to have a positive feeling toward your business in really few seconds.
I have an idea about how my final web site should be, yet I had to do a little bit of research on how other business’s websites especially the same ones in the same field I am targeting.  I did analyze two restaurants ‘web sites which the first one is Jakes located in Del Mar, http://www.jakesdelmar.com/, while the second one is Bluewater Grill restaurant located in Carlsbad https://www.bluewatergrill.com/ . The reason I choose this two restaurant because they are seafood resultants and that’s my website about, and they are considered one of the Top restaurants in the area.  Both restaurants have beautiful websites, and so whatever I will mention about is just my personal opinion which may be correct or wrong.
I will start with the Jack’s web site and I will mention what I think about it:
Ø  The website is beautify made with a lot of contents and pictures eater about the restaurant’s location or their food.
Ø  The website’s color represent the Jack’s logo and the beach’s color.
Ø  It has 6 items on the navigation menu.
What I didn’t like about it is:
Ø  It is really hard to locate the navigation menu because it looks a part of the main picture.
Ø  A lot of content with no focus point that the customer or the viewer can take as a reference or a start point.
Ø  Big font size which make the website look like a zoomed webpage.
Ø  No straight information that someone can take in 5 second visiting the website like the location address or the phone number, so you need to do few clicks in order to get that information.
For the Bluewater grill restaurant, what I like is:
Ø  Thy have a really fancy website designed to be simple as much as possible with one photo on the background that cover all the page showing their new item on the menu.
Ø  All their pages has one big picture that either refer to a seafood plate or to the ocean.
Ø  Colors blind perfectly with each other.
Ø  They have a page only for feedbacks which show how much they care about their customers, and how welling they are to change in order to improve themselves.
          What I don’t like is:
Ø  Hard to identify their logo.
Ø  No direct links to the Menu.
I really liked both websites because you see two different ways of managing a lot of contents and wrapped it into beautiful designs. My website will be close enough to them, yet way different since I don’t have that much content as they do, the enough skills to do that or even I don’t have enough time to do that for this final project.
